Today I just finished watching Band of Brothers. I had started this mini-series when it first was on HBO but couldn't finish watching it after 9/11.
I am really glad that I watch it today. I can't imagine having to live through what these men did. It is amazing what they went through and how they survived.
Watching this brought memories of my grandfather up. He lied about his age and joined the Navy at 16 so that he could serve in WWII. I wish that he was still alive so that I could ask him about what he did during the war. I was only 16 when he died and it wasn't something I would have asked him about. It wasn't something he ever talked about. I can remember asking about his tattoo and him not really answering. I don't know if he ever really talked about it with his kids either.
I miss him still.
What do you usually do on Sunday?
Sundays are pretty boring days for me. I usually spend the day watching movies and reading. Possibly finishing up my laundry or some other household stuff that I didn't do on Saturday.
What was the first movie you remember seeing in a movie theater?
Question submitted by mainmor.
The very first movie that I can remember going to see is The Rescuers. I think I was around 10 years old. It's an animated Disney movie about two mice. I think that is the very first movie I saw in a Movie Theatre. I can also remember the first movie I saw at a Drive-In. That was a double feature - Bugsy Malone and Orca. Those two movies don't really go together at all.
